This is my son, Tree of Life.

In the Pride Office waiting for the prom meeting to begin. I feel like a blonde Heather in high school, planning a formal dance for homecoming. I will crush all opposition. I will destroy whomever I so desire.

Last night was a good writing session at Joy's house, but I missed the second half in favour of drinks with Michael and Nathan, which was a bit weird because Vista 18 costs too much and the appetizers are practically sub-molecular.

But I wrote some postcard stories - one of which I just posted. One of them is for the zine, whenever we have a meeting to start planning it, and another one is potentially the start of a much longer story. I feel creative.

Joy:

The Pride Prom! The Pride Prom. I want to go ... But I don't have a date. I'm one of those losers now. I didn't mind not having a date for the prom in high school, but this is different. This is the PRIDE PROM. Though, dahling, is it true it's dry??

Can't you take Matt?

ben:

I maintain you should bring Jess. You guys could even bring Matt as your manservant.

That would be perfect. Female domination is the coolest thing since sliced bread.

Or is that whipped bread? Tied-up bread? Bondage bread?

I need french toast.

ben:

French toast? Is that what they're calling it these days?

Joy:

Matt doesn't want to go. I don't know why. Maybe I can convince him. Do you think it would be harder to convince Matt, or Jess? And what would Jess do if she knew she was the talk of the blogs?

ben:

She'd probably start doing more blog-worthy things, and wear lower-cut tops. She loves us.

She does. I think it would be easier to convince Jess. Seems a little more her thing.

We should organize an after party somewhere.

Joy:

Hmmm ... Maybe at Big Bad John's? For a class/culture shock effect.

matt:

Joy, will you take me to the prom?

It isn't that I didn't want to go, it's just that I heard it was dry, and. . . I've been to dry proms before. My own.
