Caught the bus up to UVic after getting my teeth matched with the new and elusive appliance. Which is being installed tomorrow morning. Hopefully I'll be awake in time to get there punctually. My mouth gets an upgrade. How bizarre. Brandon also goes back to Denver tomorrow for the holidays and I hope he has a really good time. You know, while he ignores us Canadians.
The weekly writing thing got cancelled again last night and I ended up watching Molly Ringwald in Sixteen Candles. It's really quite weird and creepy when you think about the film - the popular girl gets convinced she had sex with a geek while completely tanked, which resonates with date rape if you think about it. The sister of the main character has her period and overdoses on muscle relaxants at her own wedding. It left me wanting to rent Breakfast Club and Weird Science, because I haven't seen either in a good while.
I think we're supposed to be writing tonight instead. Enh. I'm going home after this and writing the much referenced plague of frogs story, which has been stagnating since "The Great Paper Rush" of 2003. I'm enjoying this Dimitri from Paris kick I'm on, so I think I'll go through his greatest hits while I write.
