Hello. It’s taken me awhile. But: HELLO SONG OF MY DREAMS.
The file speaks for itself. I am off to do hours and hours of German Studies homework, because I owe the world something for helping me find this dream song.
. . .
No. Yeah, yeah. I "owe myself" something.
"Something," all right.
YOU ARE M-F-ING KIDDING ME?!?!?!?! WHY WAS I NOT INVITED TO THIS CONCERT?????????????????????? I think I just wet myself.
Posted by: Edmorus at November 8, 2006 8:13 PMOK, I've calmed down and actually listened to the song. Where is Cohen? I was promised Cohen!!
Posted by: Edmorus at November 8, 2006 8:16 PMActually I got all excited about this becasue I had just come acroos ANOTHER cover of sweet jane and I thought, wow this is a sign or something, but upon downloading this, I regret to inform you that this isn't patti smith and leonard cohen at all but that this amazing version of this classic VU song is actually performed by, believe it or not, The Cowboy Junkies. I've had this song in my subconsious since childhood but I rediscovered it recently at a stall in Camden market lately and promptly downloaded it for myself. Smith and Cohen or no, it's an amazing version fo the song and I wasn't aware that it had been on the natural born killers soundtrack. Gotta watch that again.
Don't be disapointed. They're Canadian!
Posted by: Xavier at November 11, 2006 12:30 PMah ha! I knew YOU could solve this.
THE DREAM IS DEAD, XAVIER. THE DREAM IS DEEEEEAAADDDD!!
i do like the c.junkies, though . . .one of my favourite band names, ever. if you listen to the first verse or so, it really does sound like patti. which is what is still confusing me. i'm actually still confused. THE DREAM HAS ME CONFUSED!!!
Posted by: caroline at November 11, 2006 1:12 PMThanks for clearing up the mystery, Xavier. The Cowboy Junkies aren't as sexy as the Smith/Cohen pairing we were all antici-p-ating, but it is a damn good cover!
Posted by: Edmorus at November 11, 2006 9:09 PMI know - I'm commenting too much - isn't it dreadful?? Which Germanic Studies class are you taking? Do you have Pollard?
