The Way I See It #138
The good life is the middle way
Between ambition and compassion
Between action and reflection
Between company and solitude
Between hedonism and abstinence
Between passion and judgment
Between the cup of coffee
and the glass of wine.

Kids thoughts on BUSH! Priceless.
These are thoughts from children I work with.
"I don't like President Bush because one time he had to make a big annoucment during The Simpsons. Then I had to go to bed."
"Bush stinks because he comes home from work everyday and tells his wife I stink."
"I think he smells like earwax paper."

From time to time and in between.
Beginning around 7pm last night I fell into a sad mood...it continued today for the most part. I have a lot of school work to get done that I have been putting off, so I deiced to head to the local gay coffee house and get some work done. I walk in and find a place to sit and set my stuff down. I approach the register to order. I got a large orange juice and the cashier told me that the women behind me is buying all the drinks. I was a bit confused and asked why. He said it was her way of giving back to the community.
I don't think she is gay, and not that it matters. I went up to her and said thank you. She was very nice.
Once I sat down and thought about what she is doing it made me happy. There is more good in this world than bad. I know that I get caught up in the bad and tend to forget all the good. I have the "grass is always greener" complex and it sucks.
Coming into the coffee house was a nice reminder for me to keep forcing myself to look at the good in the world and people. If I force myself long enough I hope it will become natural. Living in the United States right now is scary. I don't feel good about where we might be headed. I know that its more than just the US but we play such a huge role...
We have talked about this a lot in a class of mine this summer, and the US needs to learn to be corporative, work together and build true democracy. The whole issue about immigration is huge...families are going to be torn apart and peoples lives will be ruined. They should of came into this country the legally, though who’s fault is it that they have not been caught 20 years later?
It is scary stuff and it’s affecting me. It's tough.
