Thousands of American toddlers are too fat to be properly protected by their car-safety seats in a crash, a new study suggests.

At last, at long last, my final days as a student are here. I got all nostalgic, walking around the campus.

Fun memories:

• drunken disc golf around campus, with simple rules: looser and winner of each hole shows ass. Thanks Julia! (not Juliet, never saw hers)


• drunken disc golf around the top floor of a building!


• sitting on the roof of another building, late into the evening sipping on jack


• concerts: singing in Carmina Burana, Mozart's Requiem, and more


• smoking up with coworkers while working


• Beer after work, in the old good felicita's.


• board meetings, collective meetings, bored meetings, and my first office.

It'll be a sad week, but a happy week too.

Anybody reading this is invited to a beer garden on campus on Friday, starts around 2:00 PM. Loads of fun!

Listening to: Nina Simone, "My way" -- so much better than the Frank Sinatra rendition. This one is happy, a celebration of history as opposed to the sulking teenagery angst that Frank's is.

I ordered my regalia for the convocation today, and tickets, and holy crap! I'm going to convocate (it is so a verb! VERBY VERB!) on June 8 at 10:00 AM. What the hell am I going to do now?

Oh, and I've been blogging for three years. Don't know what that has to do with anything at all, but there it is.

I wish I could quit you.

In other news, I handed in my last bit of homework. It's all in the hands of the gods of the finals now.

PS. Garlic == Badness. Oh so much badness. Gut-wrenching badness.

In a moment of wild abandon and madness, I bought a camera yesterday. I'm impressed with the results so far.

Taken in my back yard, can be printed at about 18x12 inches. That's a good photo.

Taken at the Finnerty Gardens two weeks ago, before I got the good camera. Some photoshopping, but not too much. I'm pleased with the soft-pink colour of the petals, and the odd shape in the center; it makes me think of pineapple.

Sunshine and warmish temperatures are predicted for the weekend! Lets go do something fun. Who wants to go to the beach? We can go to Elk Lake, Beaver Lake (snickergiggle!) or somewhere else.

Taken outside the museum on Friday, I think. I wanted to get a distorted sense of perception, but I don't think I quite managed it the way I wanted. Ah well, it is very close.

Taken behind the library. I think he was standing on a platform or something, being a little obstinant as I told him to play and smile and pose and such. Ah well, still a great photo and beautiful smirk.

Shot at the fountain behind the provincial Legislature Buildings. Saturation increased in photoshop, otherwise no editing at all!

Shot at the Finnerty Gardens, beneath one of the largest rhododendron's I've ever seen. The light under the bush was amazing.

Itunes just crashed while importing a CD. Fine, I can deal with that. BUT it took the menu bar with it! What the hell? I've been looking at the clock in the menu bar for the last hour (apparently) thinking I had plenty of time to post, but just realized that the time up there hasn't changed EVEN THOUGH the menu bar still works and changes as I change applications.

Thanks Apple. Now make it work.

The second round of deli shots are over. Most of the editing is now done. The five photos from the first round are printed (18"x12" -- that's big!) and delivered. The coffee shots look great too.
