October 2005 Archives

October 5, 2005

I'm thinking of a number between two and three. Its e!

Thanks Joy: Shots For Breakfast: "Okay, I'm thinking of something orange. Something ooooooraaaange ... Do you give up? It's an orange!" (UHF)

1. Something that is red:
The comments window from wildcat is still open. I'm stunned, still stunned that it came out so well.

2. Something that is shiny:
The mouse with the bright blue LED has a shiny, black bum. Also: me. I'm shiny.

3: Something that is ugly:
The paint, the carpet, the brown blanket on my bed. I dream of a home filled with colour. Warm, rich colour. Also: Yes, I am shiny.

4. Something that is made of wood:
The desk. My grandfather was the caretaker of our church. He died of cancer when I was eight, but he made this desk from one of the doors before he got sick.

5. Something that is sharp:
I have pencils all over the place. Very few pens. Also: yes, my wit. I can see it over on the table pointing at me.

Michael Vs. Cold and Flu

Me: I'm sick.
Cold: making me sick.

Me: miserable, with a nasty grin on my face
Cold: ooh, look at me, making you sick.

Me: chomp chomp chomp
cold: what the fuck? That hurts. Stop it.

Me: Dahl's the fuck! Stupid cold, go away.
cold: no not the curry!

Me: I win.

Good News Everyone

Classes are going well. Really, this is big news.

The average score on the calculus midterm was less than 50%. I got 76%. Hooray. In a class of seventy people, the highest mark was 88%. That's downright apalling, but I don't care. I passed, with some comfortable room to spare.

Picasso at the Vancouver Art Gallery

Vancouver Art Gallery

"The paintings in the exhibition will provide a valuable counterpoint to the prints and drawings by revealing one of Picasso's true geniuses, his ability to work in several different styles and media at the same time."

"Picasso's monumental fame will be forever linked to his development of the abstract style that came to be known as Cubism."

October 15 to January 15, 2006. Who's with me people? Who wants to do a one day road trip to Vancouver to see Picasso?
