Hydrangea in the park

Older shot, taken when I first got the macro lens.

I did some fancy masking to desaturate the petals, but leave the inner bits a nice shade of blue. All of the details in the white petals are in the high end of the spectrum: there is almost no black in this photo. The end result is an odd tonal range, but I like it.

They look oddly artificial...as though someone has gone to a great deal of trouble to simulate the flowers perfectly...I like the tiny nuclei of blue.
