Pinhole #9

20060527-153955.jpg

Pinhole photography is wonderful and fascinating. I'm trying to turn my fancy-pants digital camera into a digital pinhole camera, and it's actually going ok. I need more tools (should a gay man dream of owning a Dremel?), and I need to figure a better material for the actual pinhole than tin-foil. Everybody knows that stuff is best for hats.

The dark circle is caused by the small "inner" aperature that I cut into the spare body cap. It isn't big enough to cover the full frame when I put the piece of copper pipe with the aperature in front. The specks are dust on my image sensor.

Shot in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

It looks very much like a shot from a Guy Maddin film. Like the grainy texture.

I didn't even know what a dremel is - I'm not even sure I do now - so I can't comment. I make do with my screwdriver.

Hey, are you kidding? Dremel's are great. I've got my dad's old one. The one he use to make jewelery out of. He's got a new one so I got his old one. It's wonderful.

If you're particularly conserned just think of it as an arts and crafts tool.

Jer.

I need more than a screwdriver, unfortunately. I had to use my grandfather's old hand-drill to get the hole in the body cap. And even then, I didn't get it properly centered.
