In a moment of wild abandon and madness, I bought a camera yesterday. I'm impressed with the results so far.
Taken in my back yard, can be printed at about 18x12 inches. That's a good photo.

It is the Cannon EOS 30D, 8.1MP and oh so much fun. Offers total control over every aspect of the photo, and RAW file support.
Now I need more RAM, again.
