Taken at Island View Beach, way back about two or three years ago. We were there for Natasha's birthday and lit a small camp fire (sans permit! such rebels).
Scanned from film, and photoshopped to remove some dust, finger prints, and grain. I really don't like my scanner any more. It was a cheapy-bleapy, and had far too much noise in the dark areas. If I stay with film for the good stuff, I'm going to have to invest in a better scanner, something that can handle negatives and slides.

Aw, but I like fingerprints and grain. It's a bit like listening to old recordings on vinyl, you get all the bleeps and bobs and scratches and such. Character.

I don't think the blobs and dust and finger prints added anything in this case. they were quite distracting, and didn't fit in with what i wanted to do.
I didn't remove them all though, so it isn't quite a sterile image.

I think I prefer grain to finger prints, but I've always preferred a slightly anachronistic flavour.
I like the bursts of overexposed red on this one. It's very Martian-looking.
