Thoughts on Desire

The desire and search for inner peace are paradoxical. One cannot achieve enlightenment whilst searching, and desire clouds any view of higher existence.

Hmm... who would have thought I'd wax philosophical today?

On the other side of the coin, why do people always leave to find themselves? Don't they know where to look first thing? Why is their own head the last place they look?

To answer the second first and the first second.

I'd have to say that we leave because it steps us out of the day-to-day and provides us with a means of shaking things up and in doing so we find a measure of ourselves. The world is a perspective by which we can learn about ourselves. You can spend a lot of time in your head and learn very little as I can attest to.

As for desire and inner peace? Desire is the beginning and inner peace is the goal. Life is the path? I think desire is a part of higher existance because without it, we'd never take the first step.

Wee! That was fun! Again! Again!

this entry was really fun to read aloud.
