VANCOUVER - The B.C. Court of Appeal has ruled that the laws prohibiting same-sex marriages are discriminatory, and has given the federal government until July 2004 to change the laws.

Of course the problem remains that, until the federal Gov't reall jumps on board, a couple who gets married in BC, but then moves to Alberta for whatever reason is not married in that province. It's all very complicated.
