Some time next month, probably around the third Thursday, I'll be giving a presentation on image compression to a photography club.
Woot:
- I like compression algorithms.
- The differences between lossy and lossless compression is fascinating. There isn't really a way to measure the effects of lossyness.
- Photography is a big hobby of mine.
- There is no grading, remuneration or other "carrot" for a good job. If I do well, it's because I wanted to do well.
- I'll be able to actually use parts of my degree!
I'm terribly excited. I've got a month to prepare, and some ideas. It's free, so everyone can come and watch!

The third Thursday of July, probably in the evening. I'm not sure where yet, as I'm not the one to book the room this time. It's also too soon to say for certain.

I'll be there. Shouting "Cheese! Cheese!" and trying to get people to tell me what kind of camera I have.
