Someone, a friend, has a virus. Don't know who the someone, a friend, is. I can tell that the someone, the friend, is using Telus.net's DSL service.
The virus on that someone's, that friend's, computer is sending emails, and it's forging who the email came from. It's using my email address. My private one, the one that has never been posted on the internet. The one that's been spam free for a long, long time. Nearly two years, infact.
Grr...

The virus spoofs the from address by taking an address from the address book of the infected user.
It's not actually posted to the net so you should remain spam free.

I'm on telus.net DSL service, and my computer had a virus. Probably came from either moi, or Joy.
I can only apologize on behalf of. . . who? it's not my fault. Certainly not your fault. Neither Joy's. The autonomy will kill us all!

Actually, it could be anyone using a PC that I've ever sent an email to from my negativespace.net account. I just checked the email-dodad, and found that I sent three thousand emails in the last two years.
That's rather a lot.
Plus there's everyone on the UVic Pride mailing list, the Pride office, most of the UVSS... the list goes on.
I don't think anyone is really to blame. Virus writers are surprisingly clever about getting their goods out there.
