VANCOUVER - The U.S. Consulate in Vancouver has begun fingerprinting Canadians who want to work or study south of the border, as part of a new U.S. security program.

I've written about the police state in America before. It disturbes me greatly. How anyone can now claim that America is the land of the free is well beyond my grasp.

CBC News - Indepth: U.S. Striking Back: The War on Terrorism Biometrics The future of security June Chua, CBC News Online | September 2001

The head of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has called for more stringent and expanded security measures for airports and airlines, including the use of biometrics.

Of course it's "free" for americans. Canadians are second class citzens. In fact anyone who isn't american is at least second class in the mind of americans.

Heaven forbid that their polite, quiet unassuming neighbors to the north are a security risk. Mind you if we kept the commie bastards our of our borders, we would be accepted into the fold. Thank god for Commie bastards is all I can say.

funny that canadians, along with other countries i may add, tend to truly believe they know what it's like in the mind of an american. go figure.

Perhaps you should read that again. My post was a commentary on the political and legaslative situation in the USA.

Having to give your fingerprints just to enter the country to work is not freedom, neither is a retina scan to board an airplane.

I understand that your entry i was not commenting on that, but rather the other persons response.

I see. I didn't quite get that.
