Already, she has arrived, and and she has that new computer smell.
I am a little dissapointed. There were no drivers to twiddle with, no settings to adjust, no dips needing switching, and no security problems to fix.
This "It isn't a pc" thing is a little odd. She works. No effort on my part to get her going or (seemingly) to keep her going. Very cool, very nice. Very exciting.
Of course, now that I have no fancy adjustments and stuff to make to turn the computer into something really useful, I have no excuse for not getting things done.

Ya, doesn't it just suck when it just turns on and you plug it into your network... and Voila. It registers and asks you a few personal questions to get to know you better and then informs you that it's ready to serve you.
But Alas, it's UNIX under the hood. many third party libraries for you to tweek and fiddle with. You can even get XWindows working on your system if you'd like so you can run those XWin apps like xeyes. :)
I dare you to install OpenOffice if you'd like a challenge.
Treat her right. Get her a nice bag to carry her around in. Ask Robbie. He's just gotten a new bag for his baby. He's done all the research.
I'm so envious you. I love relationships when they are new and fresh.
I'm now into the comfortable quirky stage of my relationship with my iBook.
I am desperately trying to resist asking you why the 12 inch one doesn't satisfy you. You had to go for a larger 15 inches. But I won't ask. :)

The 12" is just a little too cutely compact for my tastes. Just too small. Especially considering the amount of movies I watch (in widescreen of course) on my iBook, I think I'd go insane trying to watch one on a 12" screen. Fellowship of the Ring was small enough on my 14".
I've already decided in 5 years time, or whenever 'Schroeder' bites the dust, that he'll be replaced by a 15" PowerBook.
But as it is, Schroeder and I are getting along reasonably well. I think he might need a little more memory though. We'll see.
Congrats Michael, and welcome back to the world of "Computers working for people" and not the other way around.
