I, Totally Obsessed and Thinking About it All the Time

Year!

That's a popular way Japanese like to say "Yeah!" I get it in emails. Is this new? Or am I getting old? My 28th birthday is on the way. I am going to buy myself a computer, and book a day in the studio and record. Maybe two days. Which means I have to save a bit of money, but I am good at that. Though not in the past few days.
My idea for recording: day 1. Sad songs. day 2. Happy songs. Maybe record three or four on each day. Do it solo. I can sing, play guitar, and drums. I can keep some songs stripped down, layer some other ones. Maybe I wanna do a duet for the happy songs. But for the two days it'll cost me around 1,500 CAD just for the recording.

Saw a great few bands last weekend. A Tom Waits girl type band -- the girl liked me and held my hand for awhile. Totally bananas, this girl. But the CD is esoteric, folksy, and at times, cute. Eart, a funky-house band is smooth, smooth, velvet. The band comes off better live. Maybe the recording is slightly old. Much more energetic live.
few others. too much gin, followed by beers in Shibuya.

Still been hitting the gym. bought a weight for home.

this weekend gonna buy a fridge, a gas burner, a washing machine, a table, and four checkered cushions. That's gonna set me back. Fuckers. Fuckers who charge money for the shit I want.

I Don't Work on Monday

In other news, I drank curry flavoured soda pop last night. Sachi picked me up a bottle of the putrid stuff. She also picked up a bottle of fried-octopus dumpling soda pop as well. Also bad.

I love not working on Monday. Everyone is practically suicidal on such mornings. But I sleep in. Drink a coffee. Shut-out the world.

Currently watching *Atonement.* Pretty accurate movie thus far. I had to read the book a couple of times to get into it. The first time I remember describing it as pages and pages of people getting ready for dinner. But it is a brilliant piece of something.

Crashed at Sachi's last night. Coincidentally, she lives about 15 minutes away from my place by bicycle. We are practically on the same street. But we are on very different train lines. That's the Tokyo works. Different train, different world. And you wouldn't think twice about it.
Sachi made me breakfast: egg, bacon, and tomato on toast before she left for work. Score! Drank down a couple of coffees and ate the food she had made.

I want to go to Korea next month. I have a free plane ticket. Russell is moving to an island off the South of South Korea. I am taking some unpaid vacation leave -- about a week -- at the end of July. But I'll be seeing the fattest paycheck of my life at the end of July, so should be okay. And in September I have a full month's paid-vacation. I didn't want to take un-paid leave, but I do need some summer time.

Moved

New pad good. Got a six mat tatami room with a garden outside. Tatami mats new. Great smell. Got a 4.5 mat kitchen with a private bathroom. High cielings. Bath. Shower. Private. Small building made of concrete (as opposed to wood), so I can't hear the neighbors. Lots of trees, greenery. Bout 10 minute ride from Shinjuku on the Chuo line, which is great for music, culture, and arts. Vegan cafe near my house, as well as an acoustic live house. Becky and I discoverd that the King of System Karaoke Box near my house has a better selection than the one in Noborito. Extra bonus. Living on me own. Went to Ikea, bought a shelf and a rack. Regrets about not purchasing a chair. Gonna go to Loft and get a Japanese table with funky cushions. Sachi's friend brought over heaps of cups, plates, a microwave, and a bbq. Props to Sachi. Sat on my terrace with a beer last night, rain coming down. New Zealand lamb, some mushrooms, and brocoli on the bbq.
Had to lay down about three grand to move in! But doing okay. Putting in heaps of OT at the new company.
