Listening to these Fattest Racehorse recordings I have to say that it is my favourite recording, even though it was done in the living room of some folks I didn't really know all that well for about one hundred bucks. This recording gives me the warmest feeling and also to know that each and every show got the packed bars dancing on their feet with little or no effort. Seriously fun, and nothing else but. Not to say that the other recordings are shit or anything. They are all an important part of my history. But as we all know, scum rises to the top. Fuck yeah.
I recently played my first solo acoustic show at an antique store slash bar. I packed the place. Played about 20 originals and 15 covers. Plus some japanese blues guys and some friends joined me on stage for good fun. Pretty intense, stayed reluctant on solos but knocked em dead overall. Realizing that tradtitional music is more and more my thing and glad that I have backed other people up for as long as I did so as to learn as much as I could within my own means before persuing the ego of all egos: my own. yeah. . . that's it.
Work is going alright, rather well paying and within the next coupla months Joy and I oughta have our own tutoring business up on the side.
Take care folks, Miss you all. these feet I have knew they would miss the island and the people the minute they got onto that plane.
ps I am drunk
Posted by matty-b at November 5, 2006 6:47 AMHey dude, it was a right pleasure playing music with you in Fattest Racehorse. That could easily have been one of the best bands I was ever in and I wish we could all have come back to Minneapolis and played at bigger, better, bars with more people and less art fags (seriously, there are no art fags in this city) and even some clubs. Take care dude. Keep writing.

Posted by: m at November 5, 2006 4:10 PMGEEZUS-FUCK, they could at least have the decency to carry around machine guns in their empty guitar cases, like a person of CLASS would.
